Death

by throgmorton @ 2008-05-02 - 14:08:57

At 6:50 on the 2nd of May my Father died aged 76
He finally succumbed to the cancer which he'd been fighting for a year or so
He leaves a legacy of 5 grown up children who appreciate his hard work and caring A caring wife who right up to the end has shown great diligence and caring which seems to know no bounds.

Some knew you as dad
others knew you as peter
your hard work away from home
made our lives that little bit sweeter

Your humour made us laugh out loud
and taught us how to joke
we learnt that the most important thing
wasnt what you said it was simple just the .............
Timing
from dressing up in kilt and wellies
to falling in the water
from showing us how to look a fool
be it son or daughter
you never shied away from laughing at you or someone else

Sharing time in your trucks
travelling far and wide
we got to share your dreams sometimes
blessed to be by your side

Dad youve gone on the furthest trip
youll ever have to travel
when you get there give god the nod
or theres a backload down to hell

rest in peace Dad
I love you lots

Our thoughts and prayers are with you hon.

Hold tight to the memories of the man your father was and quickly let go of the images the disease created.

Remember his smile, his infectious laugh, his words of wisdom and his strengths. These memories will shine peace and joy into your heart.

Remember your family and friends are waiting with open arms and ears to lend whenever you need.

*HUGS*
